Wednesdays After Work at Dune Harbor Park

Looking for a fun way to spend your Wednesday evening? Wednesdays After Work Dune Harbor Park is a free weekly volunteer series where community members can unwind after work, meet their neighbors, and help care for one of Muskegon County’s most unique natural areas.

What You’ll Do

Every Wednesday evening, participants may:

• Explore Dune Harbor Park’s trails, wetlands, dunes, and scenic landscapes.
• Learn about the park’s history, restoration projects, and native plants and wildlife.
• Participate in hands-on volunteer projects such as litter cleanups, invasive species removal, native habitat restoration, trail maintenance, and other seasonal stewardship activities.
• Meet fellow community members who enjoy spending time outdoors and giving back to their local parks.

No previous volunteer experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to help! This series is designed for the general public and is a great way to relax after work while making a positive impact on your local park.

Time: 5:30–6:30 PM (You’re welcome to stay longer!)

• Any personal items you may need while outdoors

Registration

Please register for Wednesdays After Work through the Muskegon Area Parks and Greenways Coalition on the United Way of the Lakeshore volunteer portal.

Weather

This series is weather dependent. Please check the forecast before heading out and use your best judgment when deciding whether conditions are appropriate. We will do our best to announce weather-related cancellations on the Muskegon County Parks Facebook page.
