Any vehicle entering Pioneer, Meinert, Twin Lake, and Dune Harbor Muskegon County Park is required to have a parking pass. A day pass is $7, and a Seasonal Park Pass is $25. The season is the calendar year starting January 2025 to the end of December 2025. Please note that we do not receive general tax funds, and these park passes and camping fees fund our Muskegon County Parks. Thank you for your support!
A Muskegon County Park Day Pass ($7) or Seasonal Park Pass ($25) can be purchased at Pioneer Park from the Campground Office, Meinert Park from the Campground Office or Beach Booth when staffed, and at Twin Lake County Park Booth when staffed. Dune Harbor Park sells passes from self-serve kiosks that accept cards or cash. The kiosks will print a receipt for a day pass or annual pass that can be exchanged at a physical location for a seasonal sticker. Park Passes are available for purchase at Norton Shores City Hall (4814 Henry Street Norton Shores, MI 49441) as well as the Muskegon Visitors Center (Train Depot) located downtown Muskegon at 610 W Western Ave, Muskegon, MI 49440. Please note that we do not receive general tax funds; these park passes and camping fees fund our Muskegon County Parks. Thank you for your support!
Animals must be under the immediate control of a competent person by means of a leash not exceeding six feet in length and must be supervised and kept quiet at all times. Animal feces must be picked up and properly deposited in dumpsters. Animals are not permitted in park buildings or park beaches unless otherwise posted.
The Halloween Harvest Festival is held at Pioneer Park Campground on September 26th and 27th, 2025, and each night of camping costs $50 for these specific dates.
Reservations for 2025 Camping season are currently open. All reservations must be made online via the reservation website. We do not accept reservations over the phone. We recommend creating an account on the reservation website and familiarizing yourself with the website. All Campsite/Lodge/Shelter/Rental Cabin cancellations are made on the reservation website. Cancellations made 7 business days prior to your scheduled arrival date will incur the $10 cancellation fee. If you cancel 6 days or less prior to the arrival date, you will forfeit the first night’s fee or $75, whichever is the lesser amount. Once you have checked into your campsite, no refunds will be given for early departures.

No more than eight persons may occupy a campsite with no more than four adults. An exception to this rule would be a family with more than 6 children.
All visitors to the campground and day-use facilities must leave before 10 pm. Only registered campers and their vehicles are permitted to remain on park property past 10 pm. We do not allow extra vehicles to stay in the park overnight; they must be out by 10pm. We appreciate your understanding of this policy, as parking is limited, and park user safety is our priority.
Extensions to a reservation can be made online for reservable campsites. Extensions must be obtained before 10:00 am on the date the camp permit expires, or your campsite can be assigned to another camping party. Reservable campsites will automatically go back into the system online after 10am and can be reserved by another party. Non-reservable campsites must be reserved before 10:00 am in person at the campground office.

Alcoholic beverages, or drugs, possession or use, shall not be permitted in the campground or any other area of the county park.
Only two motorized vehicles will be permitted on a campsite. Additional vehicles (more than two) are not permitted. Each motor vehicle must be registered on the camp permit and at the park office. Each motor vehicle must properly display a current Muskegon County Parks Motor Vehicle Entry Permit. Additional motor vehicles are not permitted to remain in the park between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
No more than one major camping unit (motorhome, travel trailer, pop-up camper, truck camper, van, etc.) or two tents will be permitted on a campsite. One tent and one major camping unit is permitted.
