Park Accessibility
In addition to the accessible playground and kayak launch at Rotary Park, we are seeking funds to enhance accessibility at Heritage Landing. Currently, in partnership with Muskegon County, the Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, the City of Muskegon, and private landowners, The Smith Group is developing a Downtown Waterfront Conceptual Plan that includes a major redesign of Heritage Landing. Several projects are planned, including additional ADA bathrooms, sidewalk maintenance and improvements, and ADA playground equipment.
Dog Rules
While on County Park Property:
- Dogs must be under the immediate control of a competent person by means of a leash not exceeding six feet in length.
- Dogs must be supervised and kept quiet at all times.
- Animal feces must be picked up and properly deposited in dumpsters.
- Animals are not permitted in park buildings or park beaches unless it is a service dog for individuals with disabilities, a working Police K9, or if otherwise posted.

Heritage Landing serves as Muskegon’s cruise ship dock and welcomes 15+ Great Lakes cruisers to the area.
