The Muskegon County Parks and Recreation Commission was created in fall 2023 by the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners to provide guidance and long-term vision for the County’s park system. The Commission serves in an advisory capacity, helping shape strategic planning, policy direction, and priorities for the Muskegon County Parks Department. Its establishing resolution and bylaws were formally approved in October 2024, solidifying its role in supporting sustainable growth, stewardship, and community engagement across the park system.
The Muskegon County Parks Commission is excited to support the newly formed grassroots group, “Muskegon Area Parks & Greenways Coalition“. This group meets every third Friday at 4pm at various locations throughout the county, stay tuned for future collaborations and community projects.
