In the fall of 2023, the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners created a County Parks and Recreation Commission to guide a new strategic vision and goals for our parks. The Commission’s establishing resolution and bylaws were approved by the Muskegon County Board of Commissioners in October 2024. With the help of the County Parks and Recreation Commission, we hope to establish a consistent volunteer base for projects and conservation efforts in our parks system. The Muskegon County Parks Commission is excited to support the newly formed grassroots group, “Muskegon Area Parks & Greenways Coalition“. This group meets every third Friday at Rake Beer at 4pm, stay tuned for future collaborations and community projects.
